I do portrait commissions, preferably from photos. Photos have to be of decent quality and not too small. In order to paint a proper portrait with likeness, you need to see some details - eyes, nose, lips and more. It is recommended to email a number of photos to choose from.
There is also a possibility of me shooting pictures of the subject with an SLR camera (at an additional cost), but that obviously requires the subject to be on location in person.
I currently charge USD 10 per inch (paper: side + side) which means that a portrait sized 12x9 would be 12+9=21x10= $210.
During the process I will let the customer approve the sketch and additionally a second time, when the painting is about two thirds to completion.
To start out a portrait commission a 25% prepayment is required and upon completion of the painting the remainder 75%. Should you for any reason not want the portrait, the 25% prepayment will not be reimbursed.
All payments through Paypal. If in Sweden you may also use Swish (payments using your cell phone).
Finished works will be sent by mail in cardboard boxes/rolls that protect the paintings properly.
